I’m Connley Sewalls! (she/her) I am an artist based in Chicago.

My approach to art is driven by a sense of curiosity and a desire to play. My work is expressive, vivid, and playful. I'm passionate about creating art that is both visually stimulating and emotionally intriguing. I enjoy working traditionally. I use acrylic paint, colored pencils, and anything else I can get my hands on.

As a child growing up in Kentucky, I had a passion for drawing and creating art in any form imaginable. My mom always said I left a trail of color, glitter, and paper scraps. I remember sneaking inside during hide and seek to draw at my desk. I dreamed of becoming an artist and never bothered to make a plan B. Those youthful dreams have blossomed into my pursuit of an illustration degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Now living in Chicago, I feel tremendously fortunate to be immersing myself in the art world.

While exploring anything artistic is my primary focus, I also make time to indulge in hobbies and interests that help encourage my creativity. Continually inspired by my mom, I have followed in her footsteps and become a certified yoga instructor. I have an affection for vintage clothing and thrifting, I love a good outfit almost as much as a beautiful drawing. You also might find me cycling, rock climbing, playing ping-pong, hiking, or playing frisbee.
